NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. August 3, 2023 – In the wake of devastating floods that wreaked havoc on Vermont and New Hampshire earlier this month, Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), a leading discount closeout retailer headquartered in Rhode Island with stores throughout New England, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, recently brought an 18-wheeler filled with personal protective equipment to nine towns in the flood-stricken regions.
A special donation presentation took place on Friday, July 28th at the Rotary Club in Ludlow, Vermont, one of the hardest hit areas. Representatives from Ocean State Job Lot and the Rotary Club who are working in tandem to facilitate the relief efforts, including Rotarian and OSJL Associate Nancy Hampton Beeley, Rotary District Governor Angela Ponte, and Ludlow Rotary Club President Thomas Ray, were present at the event.
The powerful storms this summer have unleashed torrents of rain, leading to unprecedented destruction in parts of Vermont and New Hampshire. As residents grapple with the aftermath, Ocean State Job Lot aims to provide a ray of hope and support with these essential PPE donations.
