Ocean State Job Lot Celebrates Grand Opening of Barnegat, NJ Store
First Ocean County store and eighth in New Jersey opens in former Big Lots
Barnegat, NJ – (May 19, 2025) – Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), the region’s premier discount retail chain, celebrated the opening of its newest store in New Jersey, located at 580 North Main Street in Barnegat, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, May 17. The 29,797 sq. ft. space, formerly home to a Big Lots, marks OSJL’s eighth store in the Garden State and the first of three stores the brand plans to open in the area this spring.
OSJL executives joined Deputy Mayor Albert Bille and other local officials for a celebration that highlighted the company’s continued investment in revitalizing well-known retail sites and expanding job opportunities in the region.
As part of OSJL’s ongoing commitment to the communities it serves, the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation donated “Operation Sleep Well Kits” to the veterans transitional home at Vetwork and $500 to the Popcorn Park Animal Refuge. Additionally, a 30% discount valid on May 17 and May 18 was extended to firefighters and the EPA of the communities affected by the recent wildfires.
In addition to the ribbon cutting, customers enjoyed free pictures with Bluey, complimentary glitter tattoos, complimentary donuts and beverages, and a live broadcast from Thunder 106. All attendees had the chance to win one of three $150 Ocean State Job Lot gift cards and were automatically enrolled in OSJL’s free Job Lot Insider Club loyalty program.
