Ocean State Job Lot Celebrates Shillington Store Opening
Event marks 152nd store for retailer; ninth location in Pennsylvania
What:
Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), a leading discount closeout retailer headquartered in Rhode Island with stores throughout New England, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania is celebrating the grand opening of its 152nd store in the former Kmart space at 4000 Shillington Plaza in Shillington, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, March 11th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
OSJL purchased 145,601 sq. feet within Shillington Plaza in March 2022. Its new store occupies roughly 47,000 sq. ft. of the Plaza’s nearly 92,000 sq. ft. former Kmart space, which has been vacant since 2019. It is OSJL’s ninth location in the state of Pennsylvania.
The event is open to the public and will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a presentation of a pallet of non-perishable foods to local nonprofit Veterans Making a Difference, and another presentation of a pallet of non-perishable foods to the local nonprofit food distribution center Helping Harvest, as part of OSJL’s “Close To Our Heart” program.
Additionally, a Discount Dash for Charity will see a representative from WRFY-FM Y102, and representatives from Helping Harvest compete in a Supermarket Sweep-style contest to benefit the charities of their choice.
Guests will also enjoy a live broadcast from WRFY-FM Y102, food trucks, free activities, and giveaways.
The company will have celebrated the grand opening of its eighth PA-based store at 1605 South Market Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony in Elizabethtown, PA, earlier in the day.
