Ocean State Job Lot to Open New Store in Augusta, ME in Fall 2024
34,154 sq. ft. store will replace recently-vacated Christmas Tree Shops
North Kingstown, RI – (August 13, 2024) – Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), the region’s premier discount retail chain with 153 stores across the Northeast, is pleased to announce it will open a new store in Augusta, Maine in late fall 2024. The new location, in the former Christmas Tree Shops space, will be OSJL’s eighth store in Maine and its first in Kennebec County. OSJL recently announced the purchase of the former Christmas Tree Shops stores in Warwick, RI, and Avon, MA; and the lease of a store in Pembroke, MA.
Located within the Turnpike Mall at 42 Whitten Road in Augusta, the leased location will provide more than 34,000 square feet of convenient shopping space for customers. Mall co-tenants include Harbor Freight Tools, Hobby Lobby, Convenient MD, Hannaford supermarket, and Petco. Currently, the closest OSJL locations are in Falmouth and Belfast.

OSJL will hire for up to 50 positions, including store leadership; supervisory; and full-time, part-time and seasonal associates.
