Ocean State Job Lot to Distribute More Than 10,000 Cans of Infant Formula to Worcester County Organizations on Tuesday

Nine local organizations confirmed to receive donated formula for families in need; photo/video and interview opportunities available

What: On Tuesday, July 28, Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office will host a Day of Giving at the Worcester County Jail & House of Correction, where more than 10,000 cans of infant formula donated by OSJL will be distributed to community organizations serving families in need throughout Worcester County.

At least nine organizations are confirmed to receive formula, including Worcester Housing Authority, Catholic Charities, Yes We Care, El Buen Samaritano, Friendly House, Every Day Miracles, Pernet Family Health, Project New Hope for Veterans and Families on behalf of Sully’s Baby Pantry, and Safe Exit Initiative. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing outreach to additional organizations.

The distribution builds on OSJL’s broader efforts to help families access infant formula. In June, the company launched its “Buy, Give, Get” Baby Formula program, which allows customers to buy a $20 formula donation at an Ocean State Job Lot register, give formula provided to a family in need through OSJL’s charitable and community partners, and get the full $20 back as a Crazy Deal® Gift Card for a future purchase.

Representatives from the participating organizations will arrive with staff and vehicles to receive and load the donated formula, providing strong photo and video opportunities as thousands of cans are distributed for delivery to families across Worcester County.
