Ocean State Job Lot Partners with its Customers & United Cajun Navy to Donate Essential Supplies to those Impacted by California Wildfires
To date, retailer has donated more than 20 tons of clothing, water, non-perishable food, cleaning and sanitization items, and pet supplies
North Kingstown, RI – January 15, 2025 – Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), the region’s premier discount retail chain headquartered in Rhode Island with 159 stores throughout New England, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, this week began its efforts to transport essential supplies to communities in California severely impacted by wildfires. OSJL has partnered once again with its generous customers and the United Cajun Navy, which is coordinating logistics to get shipments to the most impacted areas.
Last week, OSJL began its donation efforts which included providing more than 20 tons (40,000 pounds) of water, clothing (adults and children), non-perishable food, cleaning and sanitization supplies, and pet food and supplies.
“The total devastation we are seeing from the wildfires in California is heartbreaking and hard to comprehend,” said David Sarlitto, Executive Director, Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation. “Partnering with the United Cajun Navy, we were able to quickly mobilize our donation effort, and with the help of our generous and loyal customers, we will continue to provide additional necessities to help those who have lost so much.”
All donated supplies are purchased at cost, in part through donations made by customers at each OSJL store to the 501(c)(3) Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation to support the relief efforts.
