Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation to Donate 200 Bikes at Vet Fest 2024 in Philadelphia, PA

Executive Director of Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation is available for interviews

What: David Sarlitto, Executive Director of the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation, will distribute 200 bikes to children of military families at Vet Fest 2024 at Philadelphia City Hall on Wednesday, June 26th.

The donation is part of OSJL’s Buy-Give-Get program, which is a community-driven initiative designed to provide essential items to those in need through the generosity of OSJL customers coupled with OSJL’s purchasing power. Customers were invited to buy a children’s bike for $100 at any OSJL store, give it back to the store, and get a $100 Crazy Deal Gift Card to use towards future purchases. The program’s success has resulted in the distribution of 1,800 total bikes to children of military families across the Northeast. Previous initiatives have resulted in the distribution of more than 60,000 coats to veterans in need in 2023 alone, and the distribution of thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies to local students in need.

Vet Fest 2024, hosted by Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson and the Office of Philadelphia Veteran Affairs and Services, celebrates veterans and veteran organizations. The event will feature employment resources, city services, meetings with council members, veteran service officers, food, entertainment, and more.

OSJL’s participation underscores the community’s commitment to supporting veterans and their families, with the bike donation being a highlight aimed at bringing joy to local children of veterans.
