Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation and the New England Patriots Foundation Outfit Mattahunt Elementary School in Mattapan with Back-to-School Necessities
Partnership Provides Classroom Essentials for the New School Year
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – (September 15, 2025) – Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), the region’s premier discount retail chain with 176 stores across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, is pleased to announce that its Charitable Foundation has partnered with the New England Patriots Foundation to support this year’s Patriots Foundation Adopt-A-School recipient, Mattahunt Elementary School in Mattapan, MA.
On Tuesday, September 2nd, more than 600 backpacks – one for each student – and forty 9’x12’ commercial bound rugs, donated by Ocean State Job Lot, as well as bins of school supplies for each classroom, a large laminator to replace the school’s broken unit, and bulletin board paper, donated by the Patriots Foundation, were presented to administrators, teachers and support staff by David Sarlitto, Vice President of Corporate Giving, Ocean State Job Lot, along with Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins, and safety and defensive back Kyle Dugger.
“The kids are going to be so happy when they hear about this partnership,” said Priscilla Joseph, Assistant Principal, Mattahunt Elementary School. “We have a lot of kids with trauma, who have migrated here from Haiti…and there are a lot of inner-city kids looking to see a positive impact in the community. This is just the beginning.”
Ocean State Job Lot’s Charitable Foundation (OSJLCF) partners with local, regional, national and international organizations to serve communities across the globe, including with professional sports teams. In January, OSJLCF teamed up with the Boston Bruins Foundation to donate more than 800 warm winter coats to the New England Center and Home for Veterans in Boston, MA.

OSJL’s donation means that every student will have a new backpack for the school year, and every classroom will have a warm rug for students to sit on during storytime and other class activities.
