Ocean State Job Lot Announces Store Opening in Mays Landing, NJ
OSJL revitalizes former Big Lots site at Hamilton Commons as part of multi-state expansion
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – (September 9, 2025) –Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), the region’s premier discount retail chain with 176 stores across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, is pleased to announce it will open a new store at 4215 Black Horse Pike, Unit 31, in Mays Landing, New Jersey, this fall. The 34,120 square-foot location, formerly occupied by Big Lots, will be the brand’s 11th store in the state and its second in Atlantic County.
Located in the Hamilton Commons shopping center, just 20 minutes from the Shore, the store is the company’s 18th opening in a former Big Lots location in 2025 and continues OSJL’s strategic repurposing of former retail sites. The company has also acquired several former Christmas Tree Shops properties across the Northeast.

OSJL will hire for up to 60 positions, including store leadership, supervisory, full-time, part-time, and seasonal associates.
